At the time, Hotel Artemide was rated 4 out of 5 stars on TripAdvisor.com. The only hotel that provides complimentary Internet, daily breakfast buffet and all the drinks/cookies/snacks from their in-room bar/fridge. Oh, and a bathtub to soak after long, long, long, long walks all day.

Reaching Hotel Artemide from FCO by Train

Touchdown in Rome!

From the Fiumicino Airport (FCO), we hopped on the “Leonardo Express” train, which takes about 35 minutes to reach Termini Station…, then about a 10-minute, 1/2 mi. stroll by foot.

Looks like Rome suffers from graffiti & tagging just like many other big cities across the world.

We pass their version of Chinatown. It must be expensive to own a washer/dryer here... so very old school with hanging their laundry for all to see.

Walking on cobblestone sidewalks while rolling luggage in the middle of the night made a lot of noise… so here’s Bill walking on the smooth mainstreet to keep the noise down.

A Look at Hotel Artemide

The hotel is very central and provides easy access to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps.... and only a short 10-minute walk to the train station if you are thinking of exploring elsewhere like Pompei / Sorrento Valley and Venice.

Address: Artemide Hotel • Via Nazionale 22 • Rome, RM 00184 Italy
Room Type: Superior Double Room; Non-Smoking; 1 KING BED; Special Requests: We would like a room with a view, not a room that looks to a wall of another building..thanks!

These snacks were restocked every day… thumbs-up!

Everything in the fridge was complimentary and also restocked daily. Unheard of at any other hotel I’ve been with a mini-fridge/bar menu.

The long journey from Honolulu to Los Angeles to Munich to Rome… we showered and slipped into the robes provided.

Good Morning Rome!

Hotel Artemide's - Complimentary Breakfast Buffet

This elevator is so cute and said it’s max capacity is 6 people. As you can see, in reality… probably only 2 people can fit comfortably with their luggage.

We only skipped breakfast 1x on this trip. We had spoken to the concierge about our plans and he had arranged to provide a brown bag of breakfast snacks to be delivered early the morning of so we could fuel up for a day of exploring. Really impressed with the customer service here!
