Travel Planning: Beware Flight Trip Smart SCAM

Travel Planning isn't stressful enough...

You spend hours searching for flight deals and possibly trying to coordinate with multiple parties. Then you find a flight that works, a great price and is all agreed to by the parties involved in travel. You fill out the online form, enter your payment information, receive a confirmation email.

Seems that you can put the flight travel planning behind you...

Then 2 minutes later you receive an inbound phone call. An agent with an Indian ascent informs you that the actual flight has not been finalized as the prices have changed. He wants you to go through other flight options just to quote a more outrageous price than what was quoted and confirmed in their email. Then, if you ask for a Refund and Cancellation there's a service fee involved for a service they did not perform.

I imagine if we went through conducting a new flight with them over the phone, Flight Trip Smart would be phishing for our detailed information: birthdates, credit card info, etc.

We experienced this today. To take extra precautions, I cancelled my credit card and asked for a new card. What a waste of time from dealing with Flight Trip Smart and then being on hold with the credit card company to explain the mess.
