It’s an early check-in for a morning calm cruise on the West side of the island of Oahu but it’s worth it. The ocean is its calmest in the morning… less wind. Ocean Joy Cruises took us up the entire Waianae coast (west coast of Oahu), from Ko ‘Olina Marina to various points along Oahu’s western coastline. You may see Oahu’s Spinner Dolphins (Nai’a), Humpback Whales (Kohola) [in the winter season], Green Sea Turtles (Honu), and Flying Fish (Malolo) along the way! This ocean adventure allows you to sip on a tropical Mai Tai, ice-cold beer or other beverages and dine on a nice buffet lunch after snorkeling.
Parasailing, in Oahu, was our first time parasailing anywhere in the world! Thank you Hawaiian Parasail for a successful ocean adventure! Can’t go wrong parasailing in paradise in tandem with friends or loved ones. You can stay dry as you’re harnessed at the back of the boat for a dry takeoff and landing directly back to the boat or have the option to be dipped in the water before landing. Enjoy spectacular views of Waikiki beach and Diamond Head about 500′ high in the sky.
“Fly the friendly skies” without an engine! Would you do it? If so, might as well try it while on vacation in Oahu. Our concierge duties and adventurous disposition, takes us to the scenic glider rides available through Honolulu Soaring. What you may see: the lush Waianae Mountains with rugged cliffs, panoramic views of Oahu’s world famous North Shore including Waimea Bay; a glimpse of the Satellite Tracking Station at Kaena Point… all depending on weather and flight length.
As a concierge, taking in the sights like the tourists and visitors to Oahu, was part of the job and what I loved looking forward to on days off! On this occasion, we head out to Kaneohi (Kāneʻohe) – Kualoa Ranch who offer hollywood movie site tours, horseback riding and more. The area offers a great contrast to the city experience you have in Waikiki with Winward country, mountain and ocean views!
