RV Day #1: We start our RV Trip in San Diego, California. Our RV still wasn't organized. We didn't have supplies: hanging dryer, dishes or groceries. We still had to unpack our luggage of clothes. We had a lot of chores, like dusting and vacuuming. We have so much to learn about our RV so we can create good habits for traveling. In between, we would visit with friends and our old favorite hangouts.

RV-ING LESSON #1

Know when check-in time is. We arrived at 10:45am. Check-in time is normally 2:00pm but the office said we can check in an hour earlier but any earlier than 1:00pm we can pay another day's fee. Good news... there's options:

  • Hang out in the RV - we have all the comforts of home.
  • Mission Bay Park is right across of us for biking or walking
  • Take off with the tow vehicle and explore

Mission Bay Park is very active... full pedestrians with their dogs, joggers, bicyclists and like enjoying the sunny San Diego weather. We hope to Brompton around Mission Bay Park this week. So, we decide to check out where we first met - Tourmaline Beach Park and watch some California surfers.

Here's the RV Resort office. Ample temporary parking as you check-in. Their office had several Visitor's Info brochures and a wonderful map of our surroundings.

You're tow vehicle, RV and any guest would need a pass... placed on the dashboard or hanging from your rear view mirror to get through security.

This place is huge and mostly empty... although by Veteran's Day Weekend, I'm sure more RVs will roll on in and we'll be at our next stop = Arizona!

Mission Bay RV Resort Site #75

We use our cell phones to communicate as Bill practices backing in to our spot. Plenty of room on the side or in front of the RV to park our tow vehicle. I love having both a manageable sized RV and small tow vehicle! After another row of RVs behind us, we were conveniently located near the bathroom, shower and laundry facilities. We loved our stay at Mission Bay RV Resort.
