Full-day Speedboat Tour from $64.34 per adult (7-8 hrs)

We said goodbye to Maya Bay having been one of the first 50 granted entrance as they opened their gates at 7:00am. Now our full-day tour explores the other areas of Ko Phi Phi Lee. We head to Pi Leh Lagoon, cruise by the Viking Cave then check out a snorkel spot on the west side of the island.

In awe of the the tall limestone cliffs and turquoise waters while boating through Pi Leh Bay Lagoon.

What two main attractions is Phi Phi Leh Island widely recognized for?

#1 Maya Bay and #2 Pi Leh Bay (also known as Pi Leh Lagoon).

We just had a wonderful visit to Maya Bay being the lucky first 50 people to enter once they opened their gates on their sustainable floating pier found on the eastern side of Koh Phi Phi Leh. Now, our (Affiliate Link) TripAdvisor full-day tour has us visiting Pi Leh Bay, pass by the Viking Cave, and then finish off exploring this area with snorkeling the waters in/around Koh Phi Phi Lee (aka Phi Phi Leh Island).

Best Time of Year to Vacation in Thailand?

We’re here in March during Thailand’s dry season - October to April which improves the chances for better snorkeling conditions. In March, Phi Phi Island sees only about 6 days with some rain.

Getting to Phi Phi Leh

It's very easy to organize a visit by long tail boat for a short visit to Maya Bay, the Viking Cave and Pi Leh bay. From asking the hotel staff for their advice, walking to the plethora of tour desks on the main Unnamed Rd near Ao Ton Sai Pier, or independently booking a tour online with various providers like: TripAdvisor, GetYourGuide or Viator

Tip: If you have WhatsApp installed on your mobile device, sometimes you can contact the tour providers directly where they often have a cheaper price than booking through a 3rd party.

We opted for a full-day adventure to explore more in our day... accomplished with a speedboat tour.

The Viking Cave

8:55AM - Checking out the Viking Cave. We didn't witness this at the time but hear Thai locals harvest swiftlet birds' nests... a prized ingredient for bird’s nest soup. With some quick research, I learned the cave is known for its ancient wall paintings depicting boats that appear to resemble Scandinavian Drakkar longships. The graffiti, likely created by sailors and traders seeking shelter during storms, is believed to have originated from the age of discovery, rather than a direct Viking expedition.
