Sequoia Canyon National Park - Moro Rock Trail

Enjoy panoramic views at Moro Rock… a dome-shaped granite monolith. At 6,725 feet, with a 2°-15° average steep grade for climbing ~400-step stairway for only the last 300 feet. As for distance, it’s only 1/2 mile round trip hike, but it may be a bit scary for those with a fear of heights.

I can only compare this trail to a mini version of Oahu’s Koko Head hike, with ~1,048 railway stairs and an average steep grade of 19 °- 42 °, where you’re gaining almost 1 ft of elevation for every 2 ft of distance. As far as distance, Koko Head is only ~1.4 miles roundtrip.

I would say give yourself about 45-min to an hour to hike it and enjoy the ✔ breathtaking views. We started our hike around 8:30am and got back to our parked car at 9:30am. By getting there early, we really enjoyed a ✔ non-crowded experience, too. There are ✔ restroom facilities at the parking area, too.

For those with a fear of heights, the trail might be daunting but there are rails in some parts.

I love all the information kiosks about the area.
