Our waiter at The Pantry suggested the scenic drive on CA-154 E (San Marcos Pass Rd) when we told him we were on our way back home taking US101-S. We were coming from Santa Maria and driving towards Los Angeles. Glad we took this scenic route (... spotting falcons, deer, and all the lovely wineries) along the way. The vista point over Santa Ynez Valley was found directly after passing Lake Cachuma (Google GPS).
