What is the most spontaneous, last minute adventure you've ever taken? After a planned drive for breakfast at Sweet Home Waimanalo, we discussed what else we should do today while in the area. I had mentioned hiking Mariner's Ridge Trail (also known as Kaluanui Ridge) recalling how some of our other friends have done the hike. Although we only wore our flip flops, we decide to go for it!

HOW TO GET THERE:
From Waikiki, take Kalanianaole Highway toward Hawaii Kai. In Hawaii Kai, turn left at Keahole Drive and take another left (just after the U.S. Post Office on the left) onto Kaluanui Road. Follow Kaluanui until it dead-ends at an obvious trailhead. You'll have to park in the residential neighborhood.
