Fortunate to be living in the resting grounds of Oahu's spinner dolphins... they touch our hearts! We're in their natural environment. The dolphins choose when and how long they want to share their turf with you. So fascinating to observe their behaviors in the ocean but also have the ability to listen to them vocalizing with their squeaks, whistles, and echolocation clicks.
I hope they continue to be comfortable in Hawaii's warm waters and folks also snorkeling observe a no touch policy with our wildlife. Give the dolphins their space and they may feel more at ease... the calmer and quieter you are with wildlife... possibly approach you out of curiosity and stay around longer. Personally, my goal is to polish up on my freediving skills to maximize future experiences with them. Until next time on the Swell Life!
