Our Meal at Gordon Ramsay Steak Las Vegas – Worth the Hype?

Been a fan of Gordon Ramsay from watching BBC's Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, U.K.'s F-Word, and America's shows like Hotel Hell, Hell's Kitchen, MasterChef, and MasterChef Junior. We couldn't pass up an opportunity to enjoy his food while in Vegas. We had to have at least one dinner at Gordon Ramsay Steak.

Special thanks to Bill's big sister - Mary Jane - who treated us to dinner at Paris Hotel.

There is also an elevator for upstairs dining, if needed. That was a nice feature for seniors or those with disabilities.

Although I saw many in casual attire, I dressed up for the special occasion.

They had a special prix fixe "Hell's Kitchen" menu too.

Sorry, but we had to try his famous, signature dish - Roasted Beef Wellington. His 6oz. was served medium rare, garnished with glazed root vegetables, potato purée, red wine demi-glace, and was shockingly only $59. I thought it'd be more expensive.

I've only had Beef Wellington at Hy's Steak House in Waikiki, and it was served as a 7-ounce Prime Filet Mignon with Pate Maison and Mushroom Duxelles Baked in very light pastry. Served with our Cabernet Truffle Sauce for $55.

Although I enjoyed Gordon's Beef Wellington, I have to be honest and say the flavor and flaky pastry were better at Hy's. I still would visit other Gordon Ramsay restaurants, though. Also on the bucket list is to visit Chef Tom Colicchio's steakhouse.

Service on this evening was really slow for not having a full house and dining early 5:15'ish. It was a professional service but the slowest service I've experienced in years. Good thing we had great company of family around to pass the time.
