Our last visit to Vegas, we had stayed at Mandalay Bay in December 2011 having enjoyed Disney’s Lion King musical and the Sky Jump at the Stratosphere adventure. This time in Vegas was due to a family reunion. Paris Hotel wasn’t our 1st choice for accommodations but other family members were planning to book there. OVERALL RATING: 3 out of 5 stars. In summary, would we stay in Paris Hotel again? No. And here’s why.
Croc Encounters is a non-profit conservation and educational facility that provides a sanctuary to unwanted reptiles. On a Saturday morning, we drove 25-minutes from home to enjoy some time with the reptile world. It was a self-guided tour where we were given some turtle food and the opportunity to take a picture with a 3-ft to 4-ft baby gator.
I still have my iPad 2 (Model: A1396) and have had such headaches with iTunes and Image Capture not recognizing that I do indeed have GBs worth of photos and videos on my iPad. Yes – All my software is up-to-date: Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.6, iTunes 18.104.22.168, and Image Capture 6.7… yet, these applications don’t recognize the photos or videos on the iPad. So what’s the solution?
With 24 hikes under my belt this year, it was only on my most recent 24th hike that I had a Camelbak instead of a backpack full of water bottles. As you’re on the trail with other experienced hikers you notice how hydrated they stay and they don’t seem to be stopping to fiddle with their backpack to grab those water bottles.
Been traveling with Hawaiian over 8 years since I’ve moved to the islands. But now I will switch to Alaska Airlines for my flights to/from the mainland. Here’s why:
In efforts of packing smart and traveling light with the Carry-On Only Movement (i.e. Western Caribbean and South Africa), I opted to leave my JBL Flip 2 wireless, portable speakers at home. If you’re a Macbook owner, you know how disappointing the speakers are. There just isn’t that oomph to enjoy iTunes and movies on the Mac. No longer! Boom 2 was well worth – $14.99.
Bohol Island Attractions such as the Tarsiers, Chocolate Hills, and Loboc River Cruise, were enough reasons a visit to Bohol was on our travel itinerary. With a bit of research, Alona Beach had been promoted as a mini Boracay Island by locals for its "pristine stretch of white sand, turquoise waters and palm trees." Specifically, Lost Horizon Resort seemed to be the perfect location that would cater all our needs. We didn’t have many. Simply, we wanted to (#1) eliminate any transit time to get to the beach, plus (#2) be in close proximity to a variety of restaurants and finally access (#3) high-speed WiFi / Internet. We stayed Jan.10-16 for $396 / ₱17,670 and highly recommend a stay at this resort and here’s why.
We enjoyed staying in Aurora’s Manora Furnished Apartments with Wi-Fi between Jan.4-10. We chose the Manora Guest House because there would be plenty of room for 3 guests (Bill, my mom, and myself), we’d have Internet access plus, it was just the next town over from Cebu City closer to the Port where we would have to jump on a ferry to our next adventure to Bohol. It was a special trip since none of us have ever been to Cebu and I flew my mom, from Manila, to see a different part of the Philippines. Fairly new travelers renting from owners versus staying at a hotel, you always have some doubt if the ad matches what you actually get upon arrival. Happy to say that the pictures, represented on Airbnb, matched what we saw when we walked into the apartment.
