Maroon 5 – Red Pill Blues Tour at Amalie Arena (Tampa, FL)

June 16, 2018 |

The last time I went to a Maroon 5 concert was when I was still living in San Diego, CA. Adam Levine and his band played at the Del Mar Fairgrounds as their Songs About Jane album was still on the rise in the Billboard charts. By the end of 2004, the album was Ranked 15 on Billboard 200. Read More

Creating a Miniature Garden Terrarium with Succulents (Plant City, FL)

June 9, 2018 |

I wouldn’t call myself a gardener or claim to have a green thumb. I’ve never touched soil in my life. Honestly, I was gifted succulents once before as a house warming gift and unfortunately, they died. One of the plants that needs minimal maintenance died. “Hi, my name is Maya and I have killed succulents…” I imagine saying at an – I Suck at Gardening Group. I spotted an Instagram announcement (@parkesdale) about a Terrarium Workshop. Thought to myself, “This is where the tides change. I will put my best foot forward and give succulents another go.” Read More

Airbnb: Belle Vista Hotel – John’s Pass (Madeira Beach, Florida)

May 13, 2018 |

Friends we made on our recent Caribbean cruise… and whom we adventured together Snorkeling to the Antilla Ghost Shipwreck in Aruba… brought their boat to John’s Pass and extended us an invite. They found a rental property a few steps away from John’s Pass Village and Boardwalk which had its own boat dock (for an extra fee). It’s always great to discover another area only an hour’s drive away from home. If interested in a coastal vacation in the Tampa area, this is a great spot. Read More

Why Visit Lion Country Safari (West Palm Beach, Florida)?

April 20, 2018 |

We heard about this Drive-Thru Safari Adventure from our stay at La Quinta Inn where we had stayed prior to our cruise. This morning, we disembarked our 11-night Southern Caribbean Cruise, from Port Everglades, with Royal Caribbean and had this last hurrah in mind instead of a straight ~ 4-hour drive back home. We’ve been to other wildlife parks but we heard that there’s more than just the drive-through safari to enjoy. After the drive, we could exploration other attractions on our two feet like animal feeding experiences, rides, water sprayground, and more. Read More

What a Deal: The Best Cruise Parking in Fort Lauderdale

April 8, 2018 | 1

Tomorrow we set sail aboard Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas for an 11-night Southern Caribbean Cruise. The best way to feel refreshed for the start of a cruise is to arrive a day or more before the cruise. No need to stress or fret about missing a flight, missing a connecting flight, lost luggage, or any other reasons that may delay travel to the port. We’ve tried those cheap budget park n’ rides and actually parking at the cruise port, but I think this was the best deal for cruise parking we’ve ever experienced. Read More

REVIEW: Zombie Farm Paintball Hayride

October 27, 2017 |

Our first Halloween in Florida and about 30 miles from home, we found a Zombie Paintball Hayride on the Smith Family Ranch, in Lakeland. The first time I heard about such an activity was on the Travel Channel. I don’t know if the episode was talking about Millers Thrillers (Spring Hill, TN), Night of Terror (New Jersey), or ScareFest (St. Louis, MO). Read More

REVIEW: Tampa Lowry Park Zoo

September 20, 2017 |

If you’re patient enough to stay in one place and observe the animals, you typically can witness some different behaviors on every visit… especially for any newborns (i.e. on our visit – the orangutan newborns) at the zoo. We have an annual pass… only $129 / 2-person and there’s so much to see still after only two(2) visits so far this season. There hasn’t been a crowd yet as we’ve visited on weekdays. Read More

Review: Croc Encounters – Reptile Park and Wildlife Center (Tampa, Florida)

June 3, 2017 |

Croc Encounters is a non-profit conservation and educational facility that provides a sanctuary to unwanted reptiles. On a Saturday morning, we drove 25-minutes from home to enjoy some time with the reptile world. It was a self-guided tour where we were given some turtle food and the opportunity to take a picture with a 3-ft to 4-ft baby gator. Read More
