You can do as much or as little as you want on a sea day from soaking in the sun at the pool, attend a trivia gathering at one of the pubs, learn line dancing, take a sushi making class… but we like being active so here’s some of the fun aboard Allure of the Seas.
Who doesn’t look forward to dining on a cruise vacation?! You can eat all you want. Then, skip the bill. Don’t be shy to ask for seconds. Everyone does it or they’ll follow suit, too. Enjoy our cruise food journal.
Our first port stop on our 7-night Royal Caribbean Caribbean cruise, was to Nassau. Originally, I was supposed to jump on this food tour with mom on her 80th birthday cruise. Hurricane Irma changed our plans. Thoughtfully, Murray Sweeting gave us a credit & allowed us to reschedule – even 1yr later!
We received ~$600 credit in order to reserve this cruise accumulated from a Casino Bonus offer and partial refund from our noisy stateroom aboard the Serenade of the Seas in April. How couldn’t we take the opportunity for cruise travel before these credits expired?! Wouldn’t you SetSail? We were able to reserve Stateroom Cabin: 104, Deck: 9 which is my favorite ocean view room! Our port excursion today takes us touring Aruba with Aruba Watersports Center with their Sailing & Snorkel Trip. We made “pending” reservations this very morning as Carol and Robert, friends we made from the cruise, recommended the adventure. Fellow cruisers, Cindy and Michael, also hoped to jump on the same tour so we all disembark together.

Personally, I dived alittle deeper than expected at 22m / 72ft but my dive buddy kept me safe. Enjoy the video!
We’re in Barbados for the second time. The first time we conveniently located Barry’s Surf to rent surfboards and check out their beginner break. This time, we were aboard the Royal Caribbean Serenade of the Seas 11-night Southern Caribbean cruise. We wanted to surf in Barbados again but windy weather got in the way. So Plan B and according 9 Best Things to Do in Barbados (by US News & World Report – Carlisle Bay) offers “…six shipwrecks also make this area a great spot for snorkeling…can rent water sports equipment like kayaks and jet skis from local vendors, or arrange for beachside horseback riding. Umbrellas, lounge chairs and towels are available for a fee as well.” We’re in!
Our port excursion today takes us touring St Lucia with Carnival Sailing with their Land & Sea Adventure. Nearing the end of the full day tour (…we had just visited the Volcanic Mud Baths…) was a 30-min. snorkel recommended only …
