The Cajun Country Swamp Tour is ranked #1 in Things to Do in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. It’s winter and since alligators are cold-blooded, we don’t expect them sight any during the tour. They’re all hibernating by now in their dens without any food all winter. But we are looking forward to learning about Cajun Island / Lake Martin Swamp, cypress trees, the bayou and take in a little biding!
We leave for Louisiana tomorrow morning. We’ve spent 2 weeks in Texas enjoying restaurants, Dallas Stars plus Dallas Mavericks pro games, taking in a spa day, and catching up with everyone. But, what better way to end the holidays but with an evening relaxing, no formalities, no crowds, no more fighting crazy shoppers and Dallas traffic. Perfect evening at The Kopps.
We picked Hidden Valley RV Park because it’s situated in the outskirts of San Antonio and was a bit of country. We’ve seen the variety of wildlife in the area from their website’s photo gallery. This morning, we take a stroll on the property to see if we can spot any wildlife. We got lucky!
Having visited Colossal Cave and a recent visit to Kartchner Caverns (both caves in Arizona), we were told Carlsbad Caverns is a must-see if we would be in New Mexico. Imagine a cavern over 1,000 feet deep, currently has about 30 miles of mapped passages and 119 known caves. Sold! It’s a natural wonder we have to witness for ourselves. (Illustration by: Julia Kuo)
You may recognize White Sands in the Movies – Young Guns II, Transformers, Transformers 2, Mad Love and Book of Eli (… the movies I’ve seen). We couldn’t pass through New Mexico without this pitstop only an hour from our RV Park.
Day 22 RVing: We’ve been driving 5 hours from Tucson to Las Cruces. We needed a much needed fun break.
Grew up watching Westerns like: Terence Hill– They Call Me Trinity, Robert Conrad– The Wild Wild West, Bonanza, 3:10 to Yuma, both Tombstone and Wyatt Earp. We were curious about Tombstone. I expected something similar to the Pioneer Village, in Phoenix, but if you take time to read all the placards you can imagine the rough & dangerous life they led.
Right next door to Tucson, Arizona adventure awaits in Vail! It took some convincing as Bill had some anxiety about caving since I was looking into a “Wild Cave Tour – Advanced (3-5 hours).” You’re warned that “Participants must be physically fit, agile, and able to scale obstacles.”
