Leisure Walk from the Cozumel Cruise Terminal Carnival (Quintana Roo, Mexico)
Now aboard the Carnival Miracle, we visit Cozumel… yet again. This port is very, very popular. How do I know? This would be my 6th visit to this port from our past Carnival and Royal Caribbean cruises. With so many visits behind us, this time around we check out a local department store while taking a leisurely walk off the main road (Av. Rafael E. Melgar)… enjoying the sights.
For a department store, Chedraui Cozumel off of Av. Rafael E. Melgar is only 2.1mi from the Cruise Ship Terminal (Terminal de Cruceros, Quintana Roo). Depending on the time of year, it may be scorching hot out for the walk but doable. You have to decide if a taxi is worth the cost.
Here are a few things we saw on our return walk from the department store:
Wonderful grafitti art
Dolphinaris Cozumel – Marine attraction allowing visitors to feed, pet & swim with trained dolphins in a tropical setting. Unfortunately, you can’t see or even get a glimpse of the dolphins without paying an entrance fee. We walked onward.
Here we have the 118-121 foot tall Punta Ealetita Lighthouse. We had to investigate further.
It’s easy to play the game of “Spot the Lizard” on your walk.
A much deserved snack break at Sunset Restaurant & Bar. The pork rinds we bought at the department store and shared with the staff there. We couldn’t finish it all. Only 0.6mi from the Cruise Ship Terminal, it’s a bit quieter, offers great views, snacks and drinks. Downstairs they have a Dive Shop and Del Mar Spa giving massages, too.
Good times Cozumel…! Until next time.
