Today, I fell in Love with the Fennec Fox at the Honolulu Zoo!!! “The fennec fox is the smallest of all foxes. The prey it hunts in the evening provide its moisture that it needs no drinking water at all! The fennec is a true ‘desert fox.’ Its large ears also serves to dissipate heat.” -Honolulu Zoo

Pillbox (a.k.a, Ka’iwa Ridge Trail) is considered an easy hike and is located in Lanikai, Oahu. I would say it’s easy because it’s only a 0.7mi. trail but with an intermediate start and return where the trail is the most steep. There are a few parking spots on the street in front of Mid Pacific County Club. Walk up the road and you’ll see it stems off from Kaelepulu Dr. to find the trail head.
Want to support a small, local (non-corporate), family-owned business that gives you a memorable snorkeling, dolphin plus turtle watching, kayaking, and stand up paddle boarding adventure in the waters of West Oahu? Then check out EO Wai’anae Tours.
I wasn’t born in 1965 when Thunderball – the 4th spy film in the James Bond series starring Sean Connery as the fictional MI6 agent – came out in the theaters showing him escaping in a jetpack. Skip forward to present day, now there’s a water amusement jetpack. Insane! Words to describe a Jet Pack lesson = Major Rush!
Near the end of March, it’s still humpback whale season in Waikiki.
