Had an impressive 2-day, back-to-back jet ski adventure with The Armstrongs exploring parts of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy the outdoors in our desert summer heat waves which exceeded 100°F. But wearing / bringing sun protection, having ice cold drinks in a cooler and taking an occasional dip in the water helped keep our cool. Not a sunburn or feeling of heat stroke. Enjoy a glimpse of the area we visited with the videos I’ve put together.
Now aboard the Carnival Miracle, we visit Cozumel… yet again. This port is very, very popular. How do I know? This would be my 6th visit to this port from our past Carnival and Royal Caribbean cruises. With so many visits behind us, this time around we check out a local department store while taking a leisurely walk off the main road (Av. Rafael E. Melgar)… enjoying the sights.
Our 3rd visit to Belize. Our choice of port excursions were to visit the Mayan Ruins of Altun Ha (back in Mar.13, 2014) and to Snorkel with Nurse Sharks and Rays (more recently Oct. 4, 2018). This time around, our party of 4 go cave tubing at Nohoch Che’en – a national park throughout which the Caves Branch River runs with the added bonus of a zipline adventure. We will be tubing an area carved out of the limestone foothills of the Maya Mountains and where the river exits an underground cavern. Let’s go!
Sloths remind me of dolphins with their Mona-lisa smile. Whenever we return to Roatan, we always make a visit to see the sloths. Our first adventure to hold a sloth was back in 2014 travels… specifically, during a Carnival Conquest cruise. Check out our video summary of the experience while learning a few facts we gained during the tour.
I’ve been on the Carnival Magic (Sep 30 to Oct 07, 2018) with an Inside Stateroom #1262, plus the Carnival Conquest (Mar 09 to Mar 16, 2014) with a Balcony Stateroom #8336, so let’s see how the obstructed view Balcony Stateroom 5157 compares.
Having traveled so much during our RV Trip, we’ve been getting a little stir crazy living on the island. Yes, we love our friends, the laid back island life, boating & hiking but was there more of the world to explore? Was living in Hawaii just getting too expensive? Today, we put our Waianae home up for sale.
In efforts of packing smart and traveling light with the Carry-On Only Movement (i.e. Western Caribbean and South Africa), I opted to leave my JBL Flip 2 wireless, portable speakers at home. If you’re a Macbook owner, you know how disappointing the speakers are. There just isn’t that oomph to enjoy iTunes and movies on the Mac. No longer! Boom 2 was well worth – $14.99.
We enjoyed staying in Jayme’s Brand New Studio Unit in Makati between Dec.3-7. Fairly new travelers renting from owners versus staying at a hotel, you always have some doubt if the ad matches what you actually get upon arrival. Happy to say that the pictures, represented on Airbnb, matched what we saw when we walked into the studio.
